Refunds

Refund policy

For the Octadock Local one-time license. Last updated 6 July 2026.

Draft — pending legal review. This policy describes our intended practice honestly, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It may change before the paid beta opens, and it does not override the mandatory rights the law gives you.

14-day money-back guarantee

We offer a voluntary 14-day money-back guarantee on the Octadock Local license. If you buy a license and decide within 14 days of purchase that it is not for you, email us and we will refund your payment. You do not need to give a reason.

This is our own guarantee, offered on top of any legal right you already have. We can offer it because the trial is free: you can evaluate every local feature for 14 days before you pay, so a purchase should already be an informed one.

How to request a refund

  1. Email support@octadock.com from the address you used to purchase, or include your license key.
  2. We locate your purchase and confirm your request.
  3. We refund the payment through Stripe to your original payment method. Stripe's own processing timelines then apply.
  4. Your license is deactivated once the refund is issued.

EU & UK right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you normally have a statutory right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days, separate from the voluntary guarantee above.

Digital content that is supplied immediately is treated specially. When you buy Octadock Local, your license key is delivered to you instantly, on the confirmation page and by email. To deliver it that fast, Checkout asks for your express consent to begin supply right away (see below).

At Stripe Checkout you are asked to tick a box that does two things:

  • You expressly request that we supply your license immediately, before the 14-day withdrawal period ends.
  • You acknowledge that, by asking for immediate supply of digital content, you may lose the statutory right of withdrawal once supply has begun.

Even where that statutory right no longer applies, our voluntary 14-day money-back guarantee still does. In practice that means you can still ask for a refund within 14 days of purchase.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits the rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law, including rights that apply when digital content is faulty or not as described. Those statutory rights are unaffected by the voluntary guarantee and by any immediate-supply consent you give. If a mandatory local rule conflicts with anything here, the mandatory rule wins.
